Spring Disney Inspirational Run

This past weekend I finally got back to running. Between experiencing my first actual winter and avoiding air pollution, it has been difficult to get outside and run. I have been looking forward to this run for months, especially after watching the Kunshan Marathon a few weeks ago. This is the first run where I ran with a group the whole time. It was much more fun than running alone making the miles fly by.

We started our trip with an afternoon train to Shanghai where we stayed in an apartment Christina found. It was set up so nicely we wished we had more time to just lounge around and enjoy watching tv. Also. I want their cleaning man. He did an amazing job. He even cleaned out my hairbrush when we were packing up to leave the next day.

After picking up my race packet we went shopping of course. And had dinner at the CHEESECAKE FACTORY! We kind of got lost on the way back to the apartment… we got out at the wrong community. But we made it in time to watch Stepbrothers (inspired by Christina and my bunk bed. So much room for activities!

The next morning we set off early for the race. Poor DiDi driver had to put up with all of our energy so early.

I love race day. It’s like Christmas. Once we checked in, Helene and I had plenty of time to wait around for the B corral to start so we could run with the other three. I think we gave the race workers and runners behind them plenty of entertainment with our dancing shenanigans (that passed as stretching).

The race went by quickly with more singing and dancing. What can I say, we love Disney. Although there were not as many Disney characters out, the Disney staff turned up to cheer us on.

The best part was seeing all the Spring decorations!

Our official time was an hour and fourteen minutes. After the race we ate all the snacks, shopped more, and enjoyed the International food fest after.

I always enjoy races and they are so fulfilling for me, but this was the first race that I really just focused on having fun with friends. Can’t wait till the next one!
